Privacy Policy

QuizClash is a real-time trivia game. This policy explains what we collect and why. We keep it minimal on purpose.

What we collect

• Account data — a username, and (only if you choose email or social sign-in) your email address and a provider identifier. Guest accounts have no email attached.
• Gameplay data — your matches, scores, per-category skill ratings (ELO), and which questions you have been shown, so we can rank you and avoid repeating questions.
• Country code — a two-letter code you can set, shown on your profile and leaderboards.
• Year of birth — asked once when you start playing, and used only in aggregate to understand the age range of our players. We ask for the year only, never your full date of birth, and it is never shown to other players.

What we do NOT collect

• No precise location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers for tracking.
• No advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

How we use it

Only to run the game: match you with opponents, calculate scores and rankings, and show leaderboards. Usernames, country, and ratings are visible to other players on leaderboards and in matches.

Deleting your data

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Delete account inside the app. This removes your user record, ratings, and match history immediately and cannot be undone.

Data retention & security

Data is stored on our hosting provider's managed database and retained until you delete your account. Connections are encrypted in transit (HTTPS/WSS).

Children

QuizClash is a general-audience trivia game and players under 13 are welcome to play.

We deliberately hold less data about them. If the birth year given indicates a player is under 13, we do not store that year at all — we keep only a marker that the account belongs to a child, which exists solely so we can apply the protections below:

• Their username and country are not shown on public leaderboards to other players.
• They are excluded from age analytics beyond a single anonymous count.
• We ask for no email, no contacts, and no profile details from them.

A parent or guardian can delete a child's account and all of its data at any time from Profile → Delete account, or by contacting us. If you believe a child has provided us with information you would like removed, please get in touch and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
